Tears of joy, cheers and screams echoed in the stadium as Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) women finally reached the coveted Final of WPL 2024, beating reigning champions Mumbai Indians in a nail-biting Eliminator clash. The match was a true display of unpredictability and delivered last-minute thrills as Ellyse Perry’s heroics propelled the team’s astonishing victory. The Australian cricketer hit an impressive 66 off 50 balls to take her team to the Final.

Fans cannot keep their calm and are erupting into a frenzy of cheers on social media platforms, particularly on X (formerly known as Twitter). The Elon Musk-owned social media platform was trending with ‘Congratulations RCB’, ‘RCB RCB’, and ‘Perry Perry’.

People cannot thank Perry enough for fulfilling the dreams of lakhs of RCB fans and finally taking the team to the Finals. Social media has been filled with several videos, in tribute to ‘Perry’ who fans are now lovingly calling ‘Perry Perry’.

Many even devoted the very popular song ‘Cheri Cheri Lady’ to her name as ‘Perry Perry Lady’. The lyrics of the hit song goes as, ‘Cheri, Cheri Lady going through emotion; Love is where you find it, listen to your heart. Cheri, Cheri lady, living in devotion, it’s always like the first time.”

Earlier, a video of jubilant fans chanting ‘RCB RCB’ and ‘Perry Perry’ inside the Delhi Metro went viral. While RCB had posted a total of only 135 runs and were on the verge on the losing the match, Perry’s last minute heroics reduced MI to downfall.

Finally RCB’s chant of ‘Ee Saala Cup Namde’ seems to be coming true with the Smriti Mandhana team all set to battle Delhi Capitals in the finals on March 17. Celebrations have already kicked off ahead of the grand finale that promises to be an electrifying culmination.
