Even though the Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC) on Saturday issued notices to 55 candidates asking them why they shall not be barred forever from the OSSC recruitment process, it seems it will be too difficult for it to absolve itself from the entire issue.
At a time when the OSSC keeps telling that it has no role in the scam, the aspirants are still pointing accusing fingers at the OSSC.
“The OSSC is telling that it has no role in the scam and that people from Bihar were doing it. It is impossible. We are less bothered about the people from Bihar. We are holding the OSSC responsible because we are receiving question papers and recruitment from it. The sit-in we staged was not in Bihar but in front of the OSSC office,” said a miffed aspirant.
“I am dead sure that the OSSC is fully involved in the scam. It was executed in a pre-planned manner. Recruitments for posts are being announced and then they get mired in corruption. There is not a single recruitment which is free from corruption,” she rued.
“Our demand is that the 88 candidates caught should have been banned. And the examinations scheduled to be held on September 3 should be free from any malpractice or corruption. I gave my Mains exam at Boys High School located at Unit VIII. No checking was conducted there. Even our admit cards and identity proofs were not checked,” she added.
“We feel sorry not only our hard work is going to waste but the dreams of our parents are also getting shattered,” she observed.
No comments have been received from the concerned officials on the matter.
On July 23, the OSSC cancelled the Main Written Examination for JE (Civil) conducted on July 16, 2023, after Balasore SP had confirmed the question paper leak. On July 27, the Balasore Police claimed to have solved the OSSC question paper leak case and revealed that the leak happened from a printing press located outside Odisha.
As per reports, the Balasore Police on July 27 arrested eight more persons including the mastermind behind the leak of the question paper. All the accused were arrested from Bihar while the mastermind in the case is a Bihar government employee.
In this connection, the police have so far arrested 17 persons.
