Acting tough on the JE (Civil) exam question paper leak incident, the Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC) on Saturday issued show cause notices to 55 candidates asking them why they shall not be barred lifetime from recruitment of OSSC.

The Commission sent notices based on the report from Balasore Superintendent of Police.

Issuing notices, the Commission said, “Efforts are on to link remaining 37 candidates with their application in co-ordination with Balasore Police. Some more information has been requested from police to help link the candidates with the application.”

Notably, on July 23, the OSSC cancelled the Main Written Examination for JE (Civil) conducted on July 16, 2023, after Balasore SP had confirmed the question paper leak. The Commission has also rescheduled the examination to September 3.

The Balasore Police on Thursday claimed to have solved the OSSC question paper leak case and revealed that the leak happened from a printing press located outside Odisha.

As per reports, the Balasore Police on Thursday arrested eight more persons including the mastermind behind the leak of the question paper of the OSSC JE (Civil) Main Written Examination. All the accused were arrested from Bihar while the mastermind in the case is a Bihar government employee.

The police have so far arrested 17 persons in this connection.
