AIIMS Bhubaneswar Director Ashutosh Biswas
The Director of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bhubaneswar, Ashutosh Biswas, stated on Saturday that the condition of the victim from Balanga in Puri, who was set on fire by some unidentified assailants in broad daylight, remains critical.
According to Biswas, the next 72 hours are critical, with 48 hours of close observation ahead. He further informed that the victim is not on a ventilator but is receiving Oxygen support in the ICU. Approximately 75 percent of her body has suffered burn injuries, with second- and third-degree burns reported. Only 20-25% of her body has been spared from the burns. Despite the severity of the injuries, the victim is conscious and able to speak.
"The victim is currently in critical condition with 70-75 percent burns. She is receiving Oxygen support in the ICU, but not on a ventilator. We are trying to maintain the blood pressure level. We are providing the treatment required for the second and third-degree burns. Proper dressing has been made. The next 48 hours are important, and the challenge will be to protect the organs," said AIIMS Bhubaneswar Director Ashutosh Biswas.
