MP Baijayant Panda visits flood-affected areas in Kendrapara
Member of Parliament Baijayant Panda visited several flood-affected areas in the Aul region of Kendrapara district, including Manpur and Ghosra areas, on Saturday.
During his visit, Panda interacted with the residents impacted by the floods and discussed their issues and concerns.
Following his tour of the flood-hit villages, the senior leader conducted a review of the under-construction mega drinking water project at Baruna in Rajkanika. Earlier in the day, upon arriving in Aul, he participated in a tree plantation drive held on the premises of Xavier International School.
Later, MP Panda also visited Kalaspur Panchayat, where he reviewed the progress of the Aul mega drinking water project currently under construction. He held discussions with concerned officials regarding the project's development and implementation.
"We have provided some boats for the transportation of people so that they can ferry from homes to the marketplaces and the hospitals. The honourable MP has instructed to increase the number of boats. Efforts are being made to provide drinking water facilities in the flood-affected areas," said Kendrapara Collector Smruti Ranjan Pradhan.

"The drinking water project worth Rs 227 crore started in March 2021, and it was expected to be completed in the next two years. However, it has been delayed for four years due to many reasons. The honourable MP has ordered to complete the project as soon as possible and provide drinking water to the people," said Pramod Praharaj, ADM of Kendrapara District Headquarters Hospital.
"As per the announcement of the Prime Minister, drinking water should be provided to every household. However, the drinking water project has been neglected here. The honourable MP took stock of the situation today," said Kendrapara district BJP vice-president Krushna Chandra Panda.
