A day after high-drama unfolded after actor Prakruti Mishra was harassed, attacked and misbehaved by her co-actor Babushaan’s wife Trupti Satpathy, the Commissionerate Police has started an investigation by recording the statements of seven persons.
The statements of seven persons have been recorded based on the two separate FIRs registered by Trupti and Prakruti Mishra’s mother Krushnapriya Mishra.
As per reports, the statements of Babushaan’s mother Aparajita Mohanty, Trupti Satpathy, her father Lalit Satpathy, aunt and uncle Sangita and Ashok Praharaj, Prakruti Mishra’s father Manmath and mother Krushnapriya Mishra have been recorded. Kharvel Nagar Police Police also served notices to actors Babushaan and Prakruti based on the complaint filed by Trupti Satpathy.
As both the actors are out of the state, they have been asked to appear in person at the police station after their arrival in Bhubaneswar. While a case under section 498 ‘A’ has been registered against Babushaan, a case under IPC section 506 has been registered against his co-actor Prakruti.
Babushaan got into bad company: Mother Aparajita Mohanty
Later in the day, while talking to reporters, the actor’s mother Aparajita Mohanty on Sunday appealed to his son to return . “Babushaan is a good and talented kid and he loves his family. Bad company has ruined my son’s life. I urge him to return to his family.”
“I don’t know what happened to him (Babushaan) during the Covid-19 pandemic for which he has got completely changed. He started behaving differently and didn’t even pay visit to us. It was during this period that he got into some bad company. I urge people to bless my son so that he returns to his family,” she said.
Allegations/Counter-allegation and Police complaints
Trupti had earlier accused the actress Prakruti Mishra of creating disturbances in her marital life and lodged a complaint at the same police station. Trupti’s mother-in-law Aparajita Mohanty had accompanied her to the police station to lodge the complaint.
Based on the complaint filed by Prakruti’s mother, police have registered a case under section 341, 294,323, 506 and 34 IPC against Trupti’s father Lalit Satpathy.
Prakruti’s mother on Saturday alleged that Trupti along with her father Lalit Satpathy and other goons intercepted and attacked their daughter while she was travelling with actor Babushaan.
“We will examine the CCTV footage from the spot where the incident occurred. The statements of some eye-witness have been recorded,” said the investigation officer.
In a video statement, Ollywood actor Tanmay Mohanty, popularly known as Babushaan, said, “I was not aware that my family was going through disturbances. If my family has issues, I will not do that film with her (Prakruti). If required, I will not work with any heroines in the future.”
