Amidst the ongoing controversy surrounding Ollywood actor Babushaan, his wife Trupti and co-actor Prakruti Mishra, the actor’s mother Aparajita Mohanty on Sunday appealed to his son to return.

While talking to reporters, Aparajita said, “Babushaan is a good and talented kid and he loves his family. For him, Odia industry is everything.”

Commenting on the ongoing row, Aparajita said, “Bad company has ruined my son’s life.”

The veteran actor further said, “I don’t know what happened to him (Babushaan) during the Covid-19 pandemic for which he has got completely changed. He started behaving differently and didn’t even pay a visit to us. It was during this period that he got into some bad company. I urge people to bless my son so that he returns to his family.”

Objecting to the friendship, Aparajita said, “The person who is causing financial and mental problems, and creating disturbances in family can never be called a friend.”

Further corroborating the statements of Aparajita Mohanty, actor Babushaan’s cousin Trupti Mohanty said, “My brother was very loving and used to take good care of everybody in the family. However, he started behaving differently when Prakruti Mishra entered his life.”

According to Trupti, Babushaan got into bad company in the past one and a half years. Everybody was shocked to find a sudden change in the behaviour of the person, who used to love his parents, wife and child.

“Everybody at home including Babushaan’s wife tried to persuade him in the past but we suspect that something has happened; he is either trapped or not able to come out of it. Prakruti played victim card in front of my brother and we suspect that she might be blackmailing him,” alleged Trupti adding that her family members had brought the matter to the notice of Prakruti’s father, but did not get any response from him.

However, Babushaan later released a new video refuting his family's allegations against actress Prakruti Mishra of blackmailing him. He said, "She (Prakruti) is my good friend and she is not blackmailing or troubling me. Instead, she has always supported me."

While commenting on the entire controversy between Babhushaan’s wife and actress Prakruti Mishra which unfolded on Bhubaneswar street, Chairperson of the State Commission for Women (SCW) Minati Behera on Sunday said, “We are yet to receive any complaint. We will try to resolve the matter through counselling once we get a complaint. Law will take its own course.”
