Silver bricks seized in Odisha
A routine check by Khallikote police led to confiscation of 88 kilograms of silver bricks and cash amounting to Rs 5 lakh from a car near Gurapalli toll plaza in Odisha's Ganjam district on Friday.
As per initial reports, the car was on its way to Kolkata from Berhampur when authorities conducted the search.
Two businessmen, who were travelling in the vehicle, have been detained for questioning. Police have expressed concerns that the silver may have been traded without an official Goods and Services Tax (GST) invoice, prompting them to alert the relevant tax authorities to carry out further investigation into the seizure.

A detailed investigation will be carried out to uncover any larger network involved, if it is actually any illicit trade, said a police official.
