Highway robbers loot couple at gun-point, open fire to terrorise truck drivers

In yet another case of highway robbery, a group of six miscreants armed with pistols looted a young couple at gunpoint near Naraj-Bidyadharpur hills in Cuttack district. The incident occurred at around 10 PM on Saturday when the couple was returning home on a motorbike.

The miscreants intercepted the couple and beat them up when they tried to resist. The girl was robbed of her gold chain even as she screamed for help. On hearing their screams, a few truck drivers rushed to the spot to their rescue.

However, the miscreants opened two rounds of fire to scare away the truck drivers before fleeing the spot. On being informed, police rushed to the spot and launched a manhunt to nab the miscreants. 

Worth mentioning, a lawyer and his wife were looted similarly in CDA Sector-11.
