Bombs hurled in Cuttack to threaten contractor for extortion
Unidentified miscreants hurled bombs at Kainmundi Square under Banki police limits of Cuttack district on Friday night. The motive behind the incident is suspected to be extortion.
On being informed, Banki police rushed to the spot and launched a probe into the incident.
According to sources, a contractor has undertaken the construction of a bridge work at Kainundi village. A few miscreants allegedly threatened him and tried to extort money from him. When he refused, the miscreants left after threatening him with dire consequences.
On Friday night, the miscreants hurled two bombs at the vehicles engaged at the construction site to threaten the contractor.
No comments could be obtained from the contractor or Banki police in connection with the bombing incident.
