8-yr-old girl raped in Cuttack, battling for life in Sishubhawan
In a heartbreaking incident, an eight-year-old girl was brutally raped in Trisulia area under Baranga police limits in Cuttack district. The little girl has been battling with her life due to severe bleeding and has been admitted to Sishubhawan, sources said.
The victim, who sustained severe injuries, is undergoing treatment at Sishubhawan. Authorities have launched an investigation following a complaint filed by the girl's family at the Baranga police station.
As per preliminary reports, the parents of the victim were reportedly working at a nearby brick kiln when the distressing event occurred. The girl had gone to the brick kiln where her parents worked. It is suspected the miscreant abducted her and took her to an isolated place where he outraged her modesty.

However, the local police are yet to give any update in this connection. The incident has spread shockwaves in the area as everyone eagerly awaits updates as the investigation unfolds.

Just a few days back, Cuttack was in the news after a college girl was allegedly gang raped by her boyfriend and his friends by blackmailing her. The rape survivor had gone to a café with her boyfriend to celebrate her birthday during Dussehra where her boyfriend recorded intimate moments with the help of the café owner.
With that video, the boyfriend and his friends blackmailed her and raped her multiple times before she approached the police. Politics erupted after Congress alleged that three police stations had refused to take the complaint of the 19-year-old rape survivor.
The victim had gone to the Puri Ghat police station, then to Sadar police station and then to Barang before the FIR was lodged by the Badambadi police station, claimed Congress Cuttack-Barabati MLA Sofia Firdous.
