OPHWC DGM Subhash Panda arrested in DA case
A day after unearthing massive assets, the Odisha Vigilance on Tuesday arrested Subhash Chandra Panda, the Deputy General Manager, Eng. (Civil), Odisha State Police Housing Welfare Corporation, Berhampur Division.
The development came after Vigilance raid found that Panda was allegedly in possession of disproportionate assets.
As per Vigilance, two multi-storeyed buildings including 1 tripple-storeyed palatial building was found in the name of Panda in Bhubaneswar. He had also paid Rs 66 lakh to a realtor to purchase a flat in Bhubaneswar.
Similarly, the Vigilance also detected around 870 grams of gold, five high-value plots, deposits over Rs.1.84 crore, and cash Rs.13.47 lakhs which the OPHWC DGM could not explain satisfactorily.
“ Subash Chandra Panda, Deputy General Manager, Eng. (Civil), Odisha State Police Housing Welfare Corporation, Berhampur Division has been placed under arrest and will be forwarded today to Court for possession of disproportionate assets,” the Vigilance said in a release.
Earlier in the day, the Vigilance had also arrested Kamakhyanagar Sub-Collector Narayan Chandra Nayak on the charges of possessing disproportionate assets. Multiple raids were conducted on the property linked to Nayak on Monday.
During the raid, the Vigilance sleuths had found that Nayak was in possession of disproportionate assets including 3 multi-storeyed buildings including 1 triple-storeyed building at Bhubaneswar.
