OPHWC DGM under Vigilance scanner, properties worth crores detected

Vigilance sleuths on Monday laid their hands on two top government officials, a Sub-Collector and a DGM on the charges of amassing properties disproportionate to their known sources of income and unearthed properties to the tune of crores of rupees.

The anti-corruption team on Monday conducted simultaneous raids at four places associated with Subhash Chandra Panda, Deputy General Manager (DGM) of Odisha Police Housing & Welfare Corporation (OPHWC) of Berhampur Division. 

The Vigilance Department is currently raiding the residences of Panda at four different locations linked to the Deputy GM. These locations include his residences in Bhubaneswar, specifically in Aiginia and Mancheswar in Bhubaneswar.

Additionally, a rented property in Kharavela Nagar, Berhampur, is also being scrutinized along with his office, also in Berhampur. As per preliminary report, the Vigilance team has found several important documents including bank accounts, credit and debit cards and fixed deposits.

Odisha vigilance team consisting of five DSPs, seven Inspectors and other supporting staff raided at four locations simultaneously in Bhubaneswar and Berhampur.

Odisha vigilance raids the following four locations:

1.    His residential house over plot No. 1105/ 1882, at Mahadev Vihar, Shankarpur, Aiginia, under Bharatpur PS, Bhubaneswar.
2.    His paternal house at village -Barimunda, Ramagarh Sahi, PS: Mancheswar, Bhubaneswar (near Baliyatra Padia, Bhubaneswar).
3.    His rented house at Kharavel Nagar, 1st Line, Berhampur.
4.    His office at Medical Bank Colony, 1st Lane, BN Pur, Berhampur.
