Protesters demanding Kazmi release clash with police

Meerut: Protesters demanding the release of journalist Syed Ahmed Kazmi clashed with GRP personnel on Sunday at the Anjuman city station here.

They allegedly clashed with Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel this morning when they were trying to remove them from occupying the Shatabadi Express, which had just arrived at the station, police said.

The protesters also entered the local police station where some of them had been taken after being arrested and allegedly beat up police personnel and broke furniture after.

They were demanding the release of Kazmi, who has been arrested in the bomb attack case on an Israel embassy`s car.
