Mythri Movie Makers set the internet buzzing on Wednesday by unveiling AA23, a high-profile project that finally brings Allu Arjun and director Lokesh Kanagaraj together for the first time. Ending months of speculation, the announcement sparked instant fan frenzy. Arjun’s proven success with the banner through Sukumar’s Pushpa franchise adds further weight to the collaboration.

An ‘Eternal’ Collaboration Unveiled

The makers revealed the project just ahead of Makara Sankranthi, calling it a landmark union. Announcing the film, Mythri Movie Makers wrote, “A Collaboration that will be Eternal in Indian Cinema. Icon Star @alluarjun X @Dir_Lokesh X @MythriOfficial X @anirudhofficial STRIVE FOR GREATNESS." (sic)

Music, Mood and Mystery

Anirudh Ravichander has been roped in to compose the music, with filming scheduled to begin later this year. The announcement video featured the song 23, penned by the enigmatic Heisenberg and voiced by Hector Salamanca, adding intrigue to the reveal.

Superhero Buzz Returns

Almost immediately, speculation resurfaced about whether AA23 is the much-discussed superhero project once linked to Aamir Khan. Though earlier reports suggested the film was shelved, Khan later clarified that discussions were ongoing. Lokesh teaming up with Allu Arjun has reignited curiosity, leaving fans eager for clarity.

Where The Creators Stand Today

Following Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo (2020), Allu Arjun devoted five years to Pushpa. Pushpa: The Rise (2021) earned ₹350 crore worldwide, while Pushpa 2: The Rule (2024) shattered records with ₹1871 crore globally. Now, Bunny is busy with Atlee's ambitious sci-fi project AA22xA6 (working title), also starring Deepika Padukone in the lead.
