Mumbai: Amitabh Bachchan , who turned 70 on Thursday, said the surprise party thrown by his wife Jaya was his best gift and he is looking forward to spend some time with his family.

"I was touched. The best gift was the party organised by Jaya. Also, I would like to add that my parents have been my inspiration throughout my life," he said.

Jaya, who was present with him at an art show called 'B Seventy', where 7O artists paid tribute him, said "this art show is not supposed to be the last event of the birthday celebration. It will be concluded once the family sits together and sips a cup of tea". The show was inaugurated by Kokilaben Ambani and curated by Sapna Kar.

Artists, who displayed their creativity, include Akbar Padamsee, Anjolie Ela Menon, Satish Gujral, Badri Narayan, Gieve Patel, Manu Parekh, Paresh Maity, Jayasri Burman, Arzan Khambatta, FarhadHussain, Satish Gupta, Sujata Bajaj and Praneet Soi.

"It is a beautiful thing that they have done. As a family, we are honoured. It feels great that they are all inspired by my father. For me, the best role of dad is that of a father," son Abhishek said.

"All 7O pieces of art are beautiful. It is difficult to pick one as a favourite. Paa (Amitabh Bachchan ) is a legend. He is an icon and all this makes all of us feel great," daughter-in-law Aishwarya said.

These art works will be documented in an elegant coffee table book, incorporating each artist's thoughts behind their work. The book and the show were jointly conceptualised by Jaya Bachchan and adman Piyush Pandey.

Almost 35 rare posters were put up from his films like 'Reshma Aur Shera' to 'Don' and 'Trishul'. Hand painted, original posters of these films were also display.
