Jharkhand Man Arrested For Shooting Odisha Woman To Death

Jharsuguda: A day after a married woman was shot dead in front of her house at Rohidaspada under Sarasmal Police limits in Jharsuguda district, police on Wednesday arrested a man hailing from Jharkhand in connection with the murder.

A special team of Jharsuguda police nabbed the accused from Sundergarh district today. According to police sources, accused Gopal Yadav has been identified as a resident of Jamshedpur in Jharkhand.

Addressing a press meet, DIG (Northern Range), Himanshu Lal said, “A special team nabbed the accused. Now our focus is to find out the motive behind the murder. Though he has confessed before the police, we are investigating all the aspects of the case.”

According to sources, the woman was shot dead in front of her house around 2.30 am last night. She is survived by her husband and two children.
