Among the eight students who are making Odisha and VSSUT proud are Swagat Sekhar Panda, Debankar Subhram, Pallabi Parimita Nayak, Inayatulla Khan, Subhankar Nayak, Faizur Rahman, Ayushman Jena and Subhranshu Ranjan Das.
All the students have been instructed to wear Indian traditional/ authentic dresses for the event. Moreover, western and short dresses have been strictly forbidden on the university campus during these days, the notice read.
The professor, Siba Prasad Panigrahi, was working in the Electrical Engineering department of the University.

Addressing the media, the Sambalpur SP said, “After analysing the statements of students, eyewitnesses, WhatsApp messages, CCTV footage and especially the post-mortem report, it is quite evident that the death is caused due to drowning.”
“The mark on the deceased’s neck found during inquest is not a strangulation mark. Death is not due to strangulation and asphyxiation,” Sambalpur SP B. Gangadhar clarified.
Worth mentioning, Chinmayi was a student of the Information Technology department of VSSUT, Burla in Sambalpur. She attended the University’s convocation program on February 28 and received her degree.
The deceased has been identified as Chinmayi Priyadarshini Sahoo.
The student, identified as Chinmayi Priyadarshini Sahoo, had jumped off the power channel bridge on Tuesday evening. She hailed from Rampur Madanpur area in Kalahandi district.
As per the plan, over 10864 students will study in different institutions where currently 2749 students are enrolled.
The Odisha government would invest more than Rs 1,000 crore for redevelopment of the Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT), Burla, an official said on Thursday.
