In a circular, the All India Council For Technical Education (AICTE) has issued guidelines/Standard Operating Procedures (SoPs) which need to be followed by all its affiliated institutions and universities.
AICTE has urged various institutions to consider the candidature of students returned from Ukraine for the vacant seats available in the respective years so that the students can continue their studies.
The New Education Policy (NEP) envisages that all higher education institutions (HEIs) should evolve into autonomous universities by the year 2040 with individual enrolment of above 3,000.
The AICTE has also decided that two supernumerary seats per course will be reserved for Covid-orphaned children covered under the 'PM CARES' scheme in all affiliated polytechnic institutions from the upcoming academic session 2022-23.
As per the latest AICTE notice, a candidate should have passed minimum 3-years / 2-years (Lateral Entry) Diploma examination with at least 45 percent marks (40%o marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category SC/ST) in any branch of Engineering and Technology.
As per the latest notice, the last date for the submission of online applications under AICTE PG Scholarship Scheme has been extended up to February 28, 2022.
As per the Ministry of Education, the effort of the government is to create such an ecosystem in which along with educating the youth of India, they can be made employable.
