In a major decision, the All India Council of Technical Education, Ministry of Education (GoI) has launched digital skilling initiatives.

The initiatives have been launched in new and emerging future technologies to skill, reskill, upskill, internship, apprenticeship and employment of one crore students.

In a letter to vice-chancellors of all universities and principals of all colleges/institutes, the University Grants Commission (UGC) said the launch of digital skilling initiative is a vision to make our country "India as Technology Capital of the World".

“AICTE will initiate a campaign called "Technology for every Indian student" which aims to evaluate, train, practice, internship, perform, certify and employ,” the UGC letter read.

The internship portal has been developed to ease students into getting suitable internship opportunities for better employability. On this portal, both the students and the industry can register and industries are offering internships to enhance the hands-on-skills of students.

“All the higher educational institutions (HEIs) and its affiliated colleges/institutions are requested to circulate the information among the students and encourage them to get registered for Digital Skilling Initiatives for their benefit and skill enhancement,” the letter added.
