Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has geared up to conduct the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2020 on September 13.

BMC Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary informed that the examination will be held at 31 centres across the State capital. 15,000 students will be appearing the test amid the present pandemic scare.

The civic body has made arrangements for the boarding of candidates and their parents at 5 engineering colleges in Bhubaneswar. The Commissioner said medical teams will be deployed at these boarding centres which will be sanitised as per the COVID-19 safety measure.

Public address systems will be put up outside the examination centres to spread awarness about social distancing and crowd control during the entrance test, the Commissioner informed.

It may be recalled that last week the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) was conducted following the Central government's decision to go ahead with the test despite oppositions from various quarters.

As many as 38,000 candidates from Odisha appeared the national level examination held at 26 examination centres in seven cities of the State.
