Bhubaneswar: In view of the rising COVID-19 cases in the city, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has issued a fresh Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and said that it will keep a hawk-eye on the virus infected persons at homes and paid isolation centres.

According to the SOP, BMC has launched 24-hour helpline numbers where COVID-19 patients can get medical assistance and consultation over phone. The two helpline numbers are: 18003450061/0674-2431253.

Ayush doctors and other medical staff have been pressed into service in three shifts to provide assistance and consultation to both symptomatic and asymptomatic patients at home and paid quarantine centres.

Moreover, as per the SOP, special ambulance will be deployed in each zone and keep a detailed report of shifting of patients to the hospitals in the city.

As of September 4, BMC has reported 12,403 cases of which 4,822 are still active. While 7523 have recuperated from the disease, the virus has claimed 46 lives in the city.
