Bhubaneswar: The desperation to arrange money to support their daily need of drugs had allegedly driven four 'addicts' to launch a murderous attack on a class 9 student at Bharatpur near Khandagiri area in Bhubaneswar on September 2.

The 13-year-old boy succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment on September 8.

Following the interrogation of the accused, it reportedly came to light that the four had stopped the boy on September 2, when he was on his way to buy grocery and tried to loot money from him.

However, when the minor boy resisted their move, they reportedly dragged him to a nearby area and attacked him with a sharp knife.

Moreover, reports are there that around 8-10 people were involved in the crime.

Meanwhile, the incident has led to a public outrage in the area with locals demanding immediate arrest of all those involved in the crime.
