Bhubaneswar: As COVID-19 continues to spread its tentacles in Odisha, politicians, MLAs and MPs are seen to be increasingly falling prey to the disease. The latest addition to the list of high profile politicians who have been infected with COVID-19 is the BJD MLA from Nabarangpur, Ramesh Chandra Majhi.

Following the revelation, the parliamentarian has requested, those have come in contact with him, to stay in isolation and get themselves tested as soon as possible.

Earlier, BJP’s Member of Parliament from Bargarh LokSabha constituency, Suresh Pujari had tested positive for Covid-19. He was reportedly asymptomatic.

As far as other politicians are concerned, not only MPs but also a lot of MLAs and ministers in Odisha have tested positive.

On Thursday, Odisha Minister of Textile and Handicrafts and BJD leader Padmini Dian had tested positive for Covid-19.

Prior to Dian, Higher Education Minister Arun Kumar Sahoo and Rural Development Minister Susanta Singh had also tested positive for coronavirus.
