Bhubaneswar: Odisha Minister of Textile and Handicrafts and BJD leader Padmini Dian has tested positive for Covid-19.

Dian who is the third minister in the State to have contracted the virus informed about the matter on Thursday. She informed that her health condition is stable and she is presently in home quarantine.

The minister also urged those who had come in contact with her in the last few days to get themselves tested and isolate if necessary.

Prior to Dian, Higher Education Minister Arun Kumar Sahoo and Rural Development Minister Susanta Singh had tested positive for coronavirus last month.

On Tuesday, Bhubaneswar North MLA Susant Kumar Rout, Bari MLA Sunanda Das and Berhampur MLA Bikram Panda had informed that they had contracted the disease and appealed everyone who came in contact with them over the last few days to isolate and get themselves tested.

Several legislators cutting across party lines were found infected with the SARS-nCoV in the State. Notably, Chandbali MLA Byomkesh Ray, Bhubaneswar (Central) MLA Ananta Narayan Jena, Badamba MLA Debi Prasad Mishra, BJD MLA SudhansuSekharParida (Remuna), SoumyaRanjan Patnaik (Khandapada), SrikantSahu (Polsara) and PrasantBehera (Salipur) were also tested positive with the virus earlier.
