Cuttack: In a major development, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday night raided the house of the prime accused in the sensational Anjana Mishra gang-rape case -- Bibekananda Biswal alias Biban.

According to reports, a three-member team of CBI sleuths raided the house of Biswal at Naranapur village under Baranga block in the district.

They interrogated the family members of Biswal and is believed to have seized several crucial documents from his house. The investigating team also questioned a few villagers in connection with Biban and his visits during hiding.

Earlier on Friday, a two-member team of the central agency led by the investigation officer held discussion with Anjana at her residence. The CBI has said that it will file the chargesheet in the case very soon.

The central investigating agency is probing the conspiracy angle to zoom in on those providing Biswal protection during the last 22 years.

On March 3, Anjana, the survivor of the 1999 Barang gangrape case, had identified the prime accused Biswal during test identification (TI) parade inside Jharpada Special Jail in the Capital City.

The Identification (IT) Parade had been conducted by CBI under  Section 9 of the Indian Evidence Act in the supervision of the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Srujalin Mohanty .

After a couple of days the CBI had taken Biswal to the crime spot in Barang area under Chandaka Police Station limits on the outskirts of the Capital City and reconstructed the scene.
