Bhubaneswar: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probing the 1999 sensational Anjana Mishra gang rape incident is likely to file chargesheet in the case soon.

A two-member team of the central agency led by the investigation officer held discussion with Anjana at her residence today. After the talks which lasted for about 30 minutes, the team said it will file the chargesheet in the case very soon.

Speaking to OTV after the meeting, Anjana said, “During the discussion I asked the team whether it has succeeded in establishing the conspiracy angle in the case. I also questioned them how they were able to elicit 22 year-old information from Biban alias Bibekananda Biswal after taking him on remand for just one day.”

The officials said they cannot divulge much about it as the case is under investigation. “You will get to know details after filing of the chargesheet,” Anjana said quoting the CBI.

It can be mentioned here that Anjana was gang raped by Biban Biswal and two others on the night of January 9, 1999. Biban, the prime accused in the case, who was on the run for 22 years, was arrested by Commissionerate Police from Aamby Vally near Navi Mumbai in Maharashtra last month.
