People in Odisha will get the much-needed relief from excess heat and humidity as a change in weather conditions is likely in the state in the next 24 hours, said India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday.
Currently, the humid conditions have adversely affected normal life in different parts of the state which is mainly due to weak monsoon flow.
As many as nine places in the state recorded maximum (day) temperature of 36 degrees C or above in the past 24 hours. Sonepur and Chandbali recorded the highest maximum temperature of 36.7 degree C on Saturday. The twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar recorded 36.6 degrees C, each.
Earlier, the IMD had predicted formation of two back-to-back low pressure systems in September. Heavy rainfall alert has also been issued for several districts for September 6, 2022.
However, IMD’s Regional Centre on Saturday refuted several reports regarding cyclone by stating that no such information has been issued by IMD.

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Angul, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Jajpur, Cuttack, Khordha, Puri, Nayagarh, Boudh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Sonepur, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Koraput, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada , Balasore.
Heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
