It is pertinent to mention here that Odisha has been witnessing a dry spell as the southwest monsoon was subdued in the State. The fresh system is likely to bring enhanced rainfall activities in the State.

“Under influence of gradual strengthening of monsoon flow and the anticipated low pressure area, Rainfall activity very likely to increase gradually from August 5. Widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall likely to occur during August 6 to 10th over the districts of Odisha,” said IMD.
