Gajapati Additional District Collector Birendra Das collapsed and died while performing on stage in Paralakhemundi. The senior officer was rushed to MKCG Medical College, where he was declared dead. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed deep grief over the loss.

In the letter issued on June 27, it has been mentioned that all the elementary teachers of the block are directed to wear helmets while riding the bike for the safety of life.

Two sisters in Gajapati, Odisha were critically injured due to a mobile phone explosion while watching a video. The incident highlights increasing concerns over the safety of electronic devices.
