Depression update: check IMD’s forecast track, wind speed and rainfall

As per IMD, the system is very likely to move west-northwestwards till the evening of January 31 and then recurve south southwestwards and cross the Sri Lanka coast in the forenoon of February 1, 2023.

Depression system likely to recurve

The well-marked low pressure area over Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining East Equatorial Indian Ocean has moved west-northwestwards and concentrated into a depression, informed India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday.

As per IMD, the system is very likely to move west-northwestwards till the evening of January 31 and then recurve south southwestwards and cross the Sri Lanka coast in the forenoon of February 1, 2023.
