Jumbo collects ‘tax’ from vehicle for safe passage! Watch

Elephants are large majestic animals and a glance at them in the wild could terrify any common human. Rampant deforestation has destroyed the natural habitats of animals in the wild. Several instances of wild straying into human habitats in search of food are getting quite frequent. 

Such situations trigger human-animal conflict causing destruction on both sides. While such scenes are really concerning, here we bring a video that will certainly warm your hearts.

In the video, a jumbo is seen standing on the roadside while several vehicles are passing through the route. As soon as a truck approaches the jumbo, it walks up to the road forcing the vehicle to stop.

As soon as the truck stops, the elephant walks behind towards the truck's carriage. The jumbo starts raising the plastic sheet covering the goods. It was a sugarcane-laden truck and the elephant pulls out some sugarcane to relish. 

Soon, another sugarcane-laden truck arrives near the elephant. The jumbo again stops the second truck by extending its trunk. It again pulls out a bunch of sugarcane from the truck.

It seems like the elephant collected its ‘tax’ from the trucks for safe passage through the forest.

The video seems to be quite old but has resurfaced on social media triggering hilarious reactions from netizens. However, the original source of the video couldn’t be confirmed.

Not all wild animals are feral and cause loss . This video of the elephant is an example that it is hunger that is drawing the animals towards human settlement in search of food and wild animals could be gentle without causing harm.
