Elephant herds commonly stray into human settlement most often. The herd may also include babies who are unaware of the threats. There are several instances of elephants getting trapped in holes or pits or trenches while crossing unknowingly. Some lucky animals get rescued with human intervention while some die after struggling for many days.
Human intervention for rescuing elephants requires a lot of effort. However, smart tricks are being adopted these days which makes it easier to rescue the majestic animals.
Recently, a video surfaced on social media that shows a mature elephant being rescued from a pit. While the rescue operation is quite normal, the gestures of the elephant will win anyone’s heart.
In the video, the elephant is seen trying to climb up a pit. Meanwhile, an earthmover can be seen helping it by giving it support from behind. The constant effort of the elephant finally pays off with the help of the earthmover and it walks out of the pit.
However, instead of walking away to its habitat, the elephant turns back and gives a headbutt to the earthmover. However, the operator made sure to prevent the elephant from slipping into the pit again. After a few moments, the elephant steps back.
Though the exact reason for such behaviour of the elephant can’t be predicted, it seems like it thanked the earthmover for rescuing it.
The video shared on Twitter by The Best has been winning the hearts of the netizens. Several users also expressed gratitude to the rescue team. The video has gone viral on social media and garnered massive views.
