The car involved in the accident in Bhubaneswar
Three people were killed after their motorcycle hit a car near Tankapani Sai Temple under Badagada police station limits of Bhubaneswar in the pre-dawn hours of Tuesday.
Sources reported a Tata Harrier car was travelling from Jagatsinghpur to Puri via Rasulgarh when a bike with three passengers collided with it. Further, the motorcycle was reportedly driving on the wrong side of the road when the accident took place.
The three youths died on the spot, stated a team of the Commisionerate Police present at the spot. As per the latest reports, authorities have managed to ascertain the identity of one of the deceased and contacted his family in Balugaon. However, all of them have been stated to be residing in the GGP Colony of the state capital.
As per preliminary investigations, the bike came in and collided with the car approaching from the front. The impact was so severe that a major portion of the four-wheeler was mangled while the motorcycle caught fire and was subsequently charred.
The driver of the car is currently being detained by Badagada police where a probe is one to ascertain the exact nature of the accident.
Till the last reports came in, the bodies of the three youths are currently kept at the Capital Hospital and post-mortems will be conducted following the arrival of their respective families.

Further, police are trying to locate the families of the two other deceased but have not yet offered any comments on the matter.
