An expert team of doctors from various hospitals, including Delhi AIIMS, have reached Odisha to assist the existing medical staff here in the treatment of those injured in the Balasore train accident.
Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, who arrived in Odisha today, visited Bhubaneswar AIIMS where the bodies of those killed in the train mishap have been preserved.

According to Mandaviya, over 1000 people have been injured in the tragic train accident and they are being treated at various hospitals. Over 100 people need critical care and some of them might undergo surgeries.
“As expert doctors’ team from Delhi AIIMS and other hospitals have reached in special flight of Indian Air Force (IAF) here. The team is equipped with latest equipment and medicines,” informed Mandaviya.
The Union Health Minister further said that a detailed review of the patients’ condition and the hospitals they are admitted and what kind of treatment is required and how the experts’ team can assist was done.
“A working plan has been chalked out for providing advanced treatment so that we can save precious lives,” he added.
