Kendrapada youth’s throat slit, Police launch manhunt for attacker

In a chilling incident near Hajari Chhak on National Highway under Kendrapada Sadar Police limits, an unidentified youth was found in a pool of blood early Tuesday morning, with his throat allegedly slit by a sharp weapon.

The victim, whose identity remains unknown as of the filing of this report, was first spotted by local residents lying in a critical condition near the roadside. They immediately alerted the police, who rushed to the spot and rescued the severely injured youth.

Eyewitnesses stated that the assailant fled the scene, but police have launched a probe to determine the motive and identity of those involved.

Shifted To SCB In Critical Condition

The victim was initially admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital in Kendrapada but was later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack due to the severity of his injuries. Doctors have confirmed his condition as critical, and he remains under close observation.

“The youth’s throat was attacked with a sharp-edged weapon. His identity is yet to be ascertained. He was bleeding heavily when we arrived, and he has since been referred to Cuttack. A case has been registered and an investigation is underway,” said Jyotiranjan Gaur, SDPO, Kendrapada.

Motive Still Unclear

According to reports, police officials are currently examining all possible angles, including personal enmity, romantic disputes, and business rivalry. However, no clear motive has emerged yet. The absence of identification documents has further complicated efforts to trace the youth’s identity and establish a connection to the assailant.

Local CCTV footage is being reviewed, and surrounding areas have been canvassed for eyewitness accounts. Police have also urged the public to come forward with any information that could aid in identifying the victim or the attacker.
Investigation Intensifies

Sources added that a forensic team visited the crime scene, and blood samples, along with other material evidence, have been collected. Police sources said the nature of the attack suggests premeditation, but further details will depend on the victim’s recovery and statements from potential witnesses.
