Odisha Vigilance
The Odisha government has announced its plans to strengthen its State Vigilance Department by establishing new roles within the anti-corruption bureau.
As per sources, this initiative aims to enhance efforts against corrupt practices among high-level officials.
As part of the initiative, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi has approved a proposal to create additional positions within the State Vigilance Department. The enhancement includes creating as many as eight new Superintendent of Police (SP), two Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and 16 Sub-Inspector posts.
These additions are expected to bolster the department’s capacity to combat corruption effectively.

The decision reflects a proactive approach to curbing corrupt activities within the State machinery.
Moreover, in a decisive move to bolster State employment figures, Chief Minister Majhi also directed senior officials concerned to take immediate steps and fill the vacancies across government departments in Odisha.
