Science and Technology Minister Krushna Chandra Patra
In a significant step towards advancing scientific education in the region, Odisha government has announced the establishment of a new Biotechnology University in the State.
This initiative, revealed by Science and Technology Minister Krushna Chandra Patra, aims to bolster innovation and research in the State.
Minister Patra also shared the government’s plans to open an Applied Mathematics University, further diversifying the State’s educational landscape.

Additionally, a new Institute of Chemistry will also be established in the State promising to enhance opportunities for students and researchers alike.
Responding to public demand, the government will construct planetariums and science parks in specific areas. These facilities are intended to engage and inspire community interest in space and science exploration, as confirmed by the Minister.
“We have taken many initiatives for the Science and Technology Department. Odisha Government will set up a Biotechnology University, Applied Mathematics University and Institute of Chemistry in the State. The government has set an aim for development of science. The government will also construct planetariums and science parks in different districts as per the public demand,” said Minister Patra.
