Odisha hikes gratuity for govt-aided school and college staff by 50 per cent

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi has announced a significant raise in gratuity for the teaching and not-teaching staff in the government-aided schools and colleges across the State.

The gratuity sum has been increased from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 7.5 lakh. This increment is applicable to both the end-of-service gratuity and gratuity payable in the event of death.

This decision was taken following persistent appeals from several teachers’ associations and unions, as stated by the Chief Minister’s office.

As per the information released, the move aims to acknowledge the contributions of educators in the education sector and provide them with enhanced financial security.

Chief Minister Majhi approved the proposal, bringing cheer to the employees of government-aided educational institutions.
