Odisha Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan
The Odisha government is poised to take decisive action and uncover the truth, informed Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan while commenting on the demand for a CBI probe in the brutal assassination of former BJD minister Naba Das.
An atmosphere of fear prevailed, hindering individuals, including the family of Das, from coming forward under the BJD rule, the Minister said noting that things have changed now and the present BJP government is committed to bringing out the truth.
“Various pieces of information are gradually coming to light. Very soon, the Odisha government will decide on the nature of the process needed for the case. If the government feels there is a need for CBI enquiry, it will be decided accordingly. Earlier during the previous BJD rule, people were afraid to speak up. But, now people are coming forward to speak out the truth and several new twists are coming out,” the Law Minister stated.
“Even Naba Das’ family members were afraid to open up. The questions that were on our minds are finally being answered. Now, that everything is coming out bit by bit, our government will ensure that truth prevails. Further course of action will be taken as per the need of the hour,” he added.
The Minister assured that a comprehensive examination of all emerging elements would provide clarity on the murder perpetrator's identity and motive. Any individuals implicated in the conspiracy will be identified as part of the inquiry, he added.
The murder of Naba Das has become a burning topic within political discussions, adding complexity to an already intricate case.
