Father of the kidnapped girl from Mayurbhanj district
A shocking case of daylight abduction has left a village in Mayurbhanj district reeling. Four masked youths had allegedly kidnapped a girl from a busy marketplace, right in front of her parents, threatening them before fleeing. Police have yet to trace her.
The victim girl was forcefully abducted in front of her parents in broad daylight at Kaptipada market in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj. The incident occurred on Friday evening when the girl, a resident of Sudasudia village, had gone for shopping with her parents.
As she stepped out of a shop, four young men wearing masks arrived on bikes and forcefully dragged her away. When the parents tried to intervene, the abductors threatened to kill them and sped away with the girl.
The family immediately lodged an FIR at the local police station. However, even after over two days, the police have not been able to rescue the girl or identify the culprits.
Adding to the family’s distress, while they had filed a kidnapping case, the police reportedly treated it as a missing person report. With no leads, no action, and no trace of the victim, the family is growing increasingly desperate and anxious for her safe return.
Locals have expressed outrage, questioning both the law enforcement’s delay and the lack of basic public security in the locality.
No comments were received from the Kaptipada police in this regard.
Earlier in another incident, a heart-wrenching scene unfolded in front of Chandbali Police Station in Bhadrak district on Thursday, where a grieving widowed mother staged a sit-in protest, seeking justice for her missing minor daughter.
As per the allegation, the minor girl has been abducted from Chandbali locality. Despite the incident taking place more than eight days ago, there has been no trace of the girl, nor any significant police action.
