Odisha DGP directs Jharsuguda SP to reinvestigate death case of Naba Das’ cook
Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) YB Khurania has directed the Jharsuguda Superintendent of Police (SP) Smit P.Parmar to reinvestigate the mysterious death case of former Odisha Health Minister Naba Das’ cook Lalit Sahu.
Jharsuguda SP has informed that the reinvestigation into the case has already been started by changing the IO.
Earlier, Lalit’s father Belalsen Sahu had written a letter to the DGP expressing dissatisfaction over the investigation and requesting the reinvestigation into the case.
“I had written a letter to the DGP requesting him to give us proper justice. I had also requested him to reinvestigate the case and reveal the proper information whether my son has been murdered under which circumstance or else he committed suicide,” said Belalsen.

Lalit was working as a cook in the Jharsuguda residence of Odisha Health Minister Naba Das. His body was found hanging in the Minister’s residence on April 17.
Earlier last month, expressing dissatisfaction over the probe by the Crime Branch (CB), Naba Das’ daughter Dipali Das had demanded the case to be transferred to CBI.
Senior BJD leader and former Health and Family Welfare minister Naba Das was shot dead on January 29, 2023 allegedly by an on-duty police officer Gopal Das in Jharsuguda district.
