Naba Das murder: Daughter Dipali Das calls for CBI probe

The daughter of late BJD leader Naba Das and former Jharsuguda MLA, Dipali Das spoke out regarding the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into her father's murder, on Wednesday. 

In a statement, Dipali said, “Some BJP leaders have been questioning and criticising me and my family on media as to why we have not requested a CBI probe?” She urged the Mohan Majhi government to consider initiating a formal inquiry by the CBI.

Dipali also mentioned that her family is currently facing allegations and expressed about whether the government will stand with them.

“We demand today, will they stand with us and take the probe forward,” Dipali said.

“I would appeal to the Chief Minister of Odisha to call my family and thereafter they (the Government) should move ahead,” the former BJD MLA expressed.

No comments were received from the BJP in this regard.

Worth mentioning, a day after, late BJD leader Naba Das’ daughter raised her voice against the much-debated murder of her father, Odisha Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan said on Monday that it makes no meaning to say anything when years have lapsed since the incident.

The family had remained silent when they should have raised their voice.

“Who she is (Dipali) pointing to? The State government was theirs (BJD-led), the probing agency was with them, and the Police Department was theirs too. They had wanted to cover up the incident to stay at the centre of power politics,” the Minister said to mediapersons.
