Meet Bhim, a giant 1500kg buffalo worth Rs 30 crore that grabs eyeballs in Bhubaneswar

A huge buffalo weighing around massive 1,500 kg and worth around  Rs 30 crore has become the major attraction in the three-day-long Fish and Animal Husbandry Convention which commenced in Bhubaneswar from Friday. The giant buffalo named as Bhim is grabbing a lot of eyeballs in the convention.

The buffalo, brought from Jodhpur in Rajasthan by his owner Arvind Jangid, was found sleeping by keeping her head on a pillow in the convention.

“I would like to express my gratitude to the people of Odisha for showering their love on Bhim. Bhubaneswar is 2,000 km away from Jodhpur. We specially designed a truck like a car and put soil and mattresses on the vehicle to bring Bhim here in a comfortable manner,” said Jangid.

“It is one of the best bulls in India. Whatever it wishes, we feed it on seasonal basis. We used to feed it green fodder, dry fodder, ghee, butter and other natural food items. I love the animal so much. The animal was around 100 kg during its birth. As we found the animal to be a very health one, we nurtured it diligently by feeding good food and involving it in lots of exercise activities. We also massage it with mustard oil so that its skin will be smooth. Earlier, we used to keep it in air conditioned room. However, following doctor’s advice, we are now keeping it in natural environment,” he further said by adding that he will never sell the beautiful animal.

“Though Odisha’s culture is very much different, the people of the state are very nice. We are overwhelmed with the kind of love and response we are getting from the people here,” he added by mentioning that he loves Bhim very much and it’s his passion to serve the animal.

The audience present at the convention was surprised to see such a huge buffalo.

“The buffalo is huge in size and weight. The maintenance of the giant animal must be a herculean task. I am really surprised and delighted to see the wonderful animal,” said a girl.
