Rainfall activities very likely in 9 Odisha districts from February 19 to 21

From February 19 to 21, light to moderate rainfall is forecasted in nine districts of Odisha, bringing a brief respite from the ongoing dry weather. The India Meteorological Department anticipates relief in areas like Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, and others.

With no significant synoptic system lying in the region and dry weather prevailing over the districts of Odisha, India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre in Bhubaneswar forecasted on Friday brief spells of rain in nine districts from February 19 to 21.

The forecast anticipates light to moderate rainfall in these districts, offering a brief respite from the dry conditions affecting the region for the last several days. Rain is anticipated in Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Balasore, and Jajpur, while light to moderate showers are expected in districts including Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj.

In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD regional centre mentioned, “Minimum temperature has appreciably fallen by about two to three Degrees Celsius at a few places and no large change at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha. Minimum temperatures were markedly below normal by about five Degrees Celsius at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha, below normal by about two Degrees Celsius at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha, appreciably above normal by about three Degrees Celsius at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha, above normal by about two to three Degrees Celsius at many places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha and normal at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha.”

The highest Maximum (day) temperature of 35.9 Degrees Celsius was recorded yesterday at Angul and the lowest Minimum (night) temperature of 9.8 Degrees Celsius was recorded at Rourkela in the plains of Odisha.

Temperature Forecast: Minimum temperature is very likely to gradually rise by two to three Degrees Celsius during next three days and no large change thereafter for two days over the districts of Odisha.
