Nayagarh MVI’s ‘benami property' detected by Odisha Vigilance after raids

Moreover, out of the 31 plots, 10 are benami plots which the MVI is accused of having purchased in the names of his close relatives.

Vigilance Raid

The Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Tuesday detected as many as 27 plots of Nayagarh Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI), Panchanan Behera, whose property were raided on charges of possessing disproportionate assets.

The 31 plots are located in the prime locations of Bhubaneswar, the Vigilance Department said in a release. Moreover, out of the 27 plots, 10 are benami plots which the MVI is accused of having purchased in the names of his close relatives. Besides, four Benami vehicles have also been detected during the Vigilance raid.
