A postgraduate student of Berhampur-based MKCG Medical College and Hospital was allegedly assaulted by seniors within the hostel premises of the premier institute. The matter came to the fore on Sunday after a formal complaint was lodged at the Baidyanathpur Police Station.

The PG student has accused around four to five of his seniors of assault and lodged a complaint in this connection. The precise details of what led to this incident remain undisclosed, as the authorities are currently conducting an investigation to uncover all the facts.

The police have confirmed they have received the complaint pertaining to the incident, which took place on the hostel premises. According to the complainant, he was subjected to a physical assault by a group of his senior peers. The Baidyanathpur police stated that they are actively collecting evidence and testimonies from those involved to take the appropriate legal steps.

In response, the authorities have initiated an investigation, working diligently to establish the circumstances surrounding the event.
