Huge quantity of arms, explosives seized from Maoist hideout along Odisha-Jharkhand border
Security forces on Monday conducted a successful operation to dismantle a Maoist hideout situated in the dense Saranda forest, along the border of Odisha and Jharkhand in the West Singhbhum district. As per reports, the operation was launched following intelligence inputs about Maoist hideouts in the forest region.
The joint raid, executed by the Special Task Force (STF) in collaboration with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), was a strategic move against Maoist insurgency. During the operation, four Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), each weighing five kilograms, along with detonators, banners, posters, a radio, and other items linked to Maoist activities were reportedly seized by the security personnel. Furthermore, as many as 16 Maoist bunkers were also destroyed.
