Lack of basic infrastructure and promotion has limited their accessibility to wider tourists. With right investment and focus, these destinations could significantly contribute to the local economy. Better roads, signage, and accommodation facilities could enhance the experience for visitors, drawing attention to these hidden gems.

These are the best tourist spots for those seeking calm away from the city's chaos.

Devkund: A Revered Spiritual Haven and Tourist Delight

Nestled amidst the verdant foothills of Similipal, Devkund is not only as a significant religious site but also as an alluring tourist destination. This sacred spot is venerated as the 51st Shakti Peeth, where devotees pay homage to Maa Kali, a fierce manifestation of Goddess Ambika. It is enveloped by lush forests and undulating hills, accentuated by the melodious flow of the breathtaking beautiful streams.

Devkund attracts numerous visitors both for its spiritual essence and natural beauty. The site is frequented by tourists from nearby states and further afield, who are lured by its spiritual import and pristine surroundings.

Despite its prominence as a spiritual site, Devkund grapples with developmental issues like lack of efficient road infrastructure and adequate drinking water facilities. These challenges have been a concern for both visitors and locals.

Bhairaghumar Waterfall: Odisha's Hidden Natural Wonder

Nestled in the Chandahandi block of Nabarangpur district, Bhairaghumar Waterfalls presents a captivating yet underrated spectacle for nature lovers. Despite its lack of official tourist site recognition, this natural gem, situated just 10 kilometres from the nearest town, is on par with established attractions in terms of scenic beauty and allure.

Visitors are enchanted by the majestic cascade, echoing through the surrounding mountain wilderness, accompanied by the chattering of monkeys and the rustling of the forest.

However, visitors consistently encounter difficulties due to insufficient basic facilities at the site. Enhancing infrastructure in the region will not only improve accessibility but also nurture tourism growth, bringing much-needed recognition and economic opportunities to the area.
