An accident victim got a new lease of life, thanks to the timely intervention of actor and former MP Sidhant Mohapatra, who turned out to be a Good Samaritan and help the victim reach the hospital on time.
The Odia superstar not only admitted the victim to a private hospital but also stayed with him until the arrival of his family members and ensured that he was provided with proper treatment. He also met the family members of the victim and talked to them after they arrived at the hospital.
Now, the ‘Suna Panjuri’ actor is receiving praise from all quarters for his noble deed and setting example for others.
According to sources, the victim was critically injured and withering in pain following an accident on the National Highway near Pahala in Bhubaneswar. The actor who was going on the other side of the road came to know about the accident and rushed to the victim’s aid.
He called an ambulance and rushed the victim to a private hospital. Visuals of Mohapatra showing humanity at the accident site have left social media emotional as people hailed the former MP and Odia film actor.

Recalling the incident, the actor said, “I was returning to Bhubaneswar from Cuttack when I came to know that a biker was hit by an over-speeding Bolero. The vehicle had dragged him around 20-30 metres on the NH. Later, the bolero sped away with the bike attached to it.”
“We rushed to the biker’s aid and he was critically injured. Luckily, he was wearing a helmet. So, we immediately started calling every number for an ambulance first. Meanwhile, we made sure that the blood flow due to the injuries was stopped,” Mohapatra said.
“There was a little delay in the arrival of an ambulance. So, I requested a PCR van to take the injured to the hospital. Fortunately, the ambulance reached at that time and we took the injured to the hospital. By then, I had personally contacted the hospital to make arrangements for the treatment,” he added.
“I also contacted the Commissioner and a PCR van escorted us safely to the hospital. Now, he has been shifted to AIIMS, Bhubaneswar and is out of danger. So, it was a collective effort and I extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who helped in this situation,” he further said.
